If someone writes a bad review, you can’t just remove it. But if it violates Google’s own review policy you can request that they remove it.
Google will take down reviews that are flagged in order to comply with Google policies or legal obligations. One of the benefits of Google reviews is that the reviewers are all verified to have legitimate accounts.
This tool doesn’t just work for just reviews, but also photos, and videos. When reviews or related content are determined to distort truth, they will be removed, whether or not they are related to the location or business where they are tagged.
Also, AI is used to screen reviews and content tagged to a business or location to determine possible spam or fake reviews.
Google’s policy includes:
- Spam and fake content
- Restricted content
- Illegal content
- Terrorist content
- Sexually explicit content
- Offensive content
- Dangerous & Derogatory Content
- Conflict of Interest
Google My Business has now included an easily accessible way to report these reviews so they can be removed ; See how it works and access it.
